Niki giovanni has written more than three dozen poetry collections, in children's books and also ecorded several albums. Nickie says one discovery she made early on that chartered the course of her career as a poet was observing the ways that we as black people show love through faith and food. In the 19 sixties, nicky quit grad school at columbia university and followed her desire to write, poet of the black revolution.
