The History of Philo

In philo, we find a marriage of hellenistic philosophy and the jewish faith. He was born towards the end of the first century b c and died in approximately forty five a d. In his time, when control over egypt had been seized by rome, a dynamic of cultural confrontation and co operation between greeks, jews and egyptians continued as before. But now the political prize to be won was, above all, the favor of the romans. We're at the start of something big here, but let's not get distracted from telling the history of philo without any gaps.
