You will read into it that it's doing a Harry Potter thing and as such, whatever like knowledge of Harry Potter you've osmosed from the universe is going to be enough to make the world kind of work. I also think you don't need to know Harry Potter much at all to enjoy this book. The characters are wondering like to the extent that the world building is like sketchy or because she's like oh it's just aHarry Potter thing. There's some of that.
