The wider suttan hu excavations provide another confirmation of continuity and adaptation from the pagan era into the christian era. There is a remarkable degree of repetition and consistency of where and how people were buried, even as religious symbolism might have changed. And in that way, it serves as a precedent and a model for many more finds and excavations all around britain and all around europe. In recent decades, there has even been a sort of multiplication of new finds as metal detecting has been increasingly integrated into british archaeology.
