The Importance of Inner Speech in Social Learning
A lot of my work is about trying to understand how through social learning, we're exposed to the way other people think. I've become quite interested in this and one example is inner speech. Some people are constantly talking to themselves in their heads; some don't experience any inner speech at all. Other people have what's known as condensed inner speech, so they're definitely thinking in language but it's kind of like compressing a lot of the single you would have to produce externally.
