The Confluence of Data Privacy and Distributed Systems
Arjun: I was doing a PhD in computer science at Penn, initially focusing on data privacy. Frank is one of the co-inventors of differential privacy, which I was working on. In 2013, when Frank published the NIAID paper, was sort of the perfect moment because I had immersed myself in all of these. So it still seemed entirely appropriate to be following that. And that's absolutely the most interesting, by far, thing to be doing.
