The Relationship Between Documentary and Narrative Work
I think I have a kind of a contentious relationship with doing so many documentaries. I certainly think that it's shaped me as a cinematographer. It usually when I say yes to a documentary, it has to be like something that really jumps off the page. And I do maybe sometimes think that's a little bit of a stigma because I have done bigger stuff and I worry that people think that I'm not capable of doing bigger things.
