LZ Granderson: Why do you need the format of a talk show with a couple guests and a band and a monologue? He says that would be a crazy idea just to do a simple digital show. "Why wouldn't you have it on network?" he asks. LZ: I think if you look for us, it's been the big swings that have the things that cost us money. The cheapest shows are the ones that have your monologue and talk.
