Brush Your Ticks on Boulders

"I'm not gonna leave like egregiously long ticks on a boulder you know or sometimes I will if it's out in the middle of nowhere," he says. "The more chalk that you use at a boulder is probably going to have on a local environment impact is going to have a worse effect so if you like it's like very marginal but theoretically if you put a chalk the tip mark off brush it off and everyone does that you've been way better just leaving your tip marks off yeah" He adds: "Chalk affects the acidity of like the earth or something essentially  that magnesium carbonate will snatch up a proton off the water become bicarbonate."
