The Fatalist View of the Gita
Krishna says that we should take him as our model when we act. The Gita fits well into the rest of the Mahabharata, which often suggests that the events it narrates were foreordained. Part of Krishna's divine role is to ensure that things unfold as they should. From his lofty vantage point, the future events in the narrative are already present.
