Is There a Difference Between Hypertrophy Training and Training With Lighter Loads?

A study out of our lab showed that training with two to four reps did not at an equal set number, did not provide equal hypertrophy. It produced greater strength, but the hypertrophy was less. So there does seem to be something to an effect of a quote unquote time under tension. There is some evidence that there might be additive effects of training at from a hypertrophy standpoint, training with somewhat heavier loads and somewhat lighter loads.
