The Ford Foundation
The Ford Foundation was officially founded in 1936 by Henry Ford's son with an initial gift of $25,000. After both Ford and his son died in the 1940s, their fortunes turned the foundation into the largest in the world. In 1969, Congress embarked on the most significant investigation into private foundations since the Walsh Commission.
