Romanization of Chinese Character Writing
The Chinese character writing has probably more than most languages, an incredibly rich tradition that is backed by philosophical writing. So it's really kind of a cataclysmic moment that writing was going to partake in nature and it was never counter pose as something that's opposite nature to what we think of Western alphabet. But the whole time, if you look at what people really know little about is how to always know that Chinese would survive at all costs. This was a detour that both Romanizing Chinese and simplifying it, which is the bridges to eventually ensure its survival in the modern age.
