The Historicality of the Book of Esther
Scholars have long challenged the historicity of the book of ester. The reference to 100 a d 27 provinces, for instance, would some claim be as jarring as reading about 400 different us. Persia was divided into about 20 different satrapes, not over a hundred and 20 provinces. Many details of the book clearly ring true and fit in with what we know of the period.
