The Power of Jazz

I think all drummers that can cruise somehow always had some sort of jazz background and that's why I think there was so many of those kinds of players like coming out of the 50s and 60s. The music before it was big band into bebop and all of them at least listen to their parents record so they had that that swing pulse in them which is still grooved when applied to rock. My generation came along and ours was the misinterpretation of Bonham but it's just like you just fucking swing from behind your ears  that's how you get like this big sound, he says.
