It's a deconstruction reconstruction process where you accept i can't change what's happened to me but i can change what it looks like inside my brain body and mind and i change. The research shows that cbt is not as successful as people think it is if you look at the evidence and the research it's very questionable in terms of sustainability so where it does work is how you discipline almost discipline your mind to not allow yourself to go back to the if only rumination or something okay i was doing that but i'm going to do this to manage that.
