The Role of Glucagon in Type One Diabetes

After about four or five years, people living with type one for unclear reasons are losing their glucagon counter regulation during exercise during low blood sugar. There's a break on the release of endogenous glucagon at the level of the pancreatic alpha cell. And some of the work that we're doing in our lab is looking at what's that mechanism action? and can we restore that with yet another therapy,. But I don't want to talk too much about that because it gets very complex.
