Why You Don't Need a Passport for National Borders

The U.S. has not experienced war on our soil other than the American Civil War, which is also up to a time when people are like it's finally ordained or something. Americans have been conditioned to think that war is normal and peace is this bizarre rare exception that only happens after you've killed everybody else. When appeasement works, they just call it good negotiations or wise diplomacy or skillful statecraft.
