A Linear Model Is a Hybrid Sort of L2 Model
With linear models, you should always be looking at transforming your features. Things should be scaled in a way that is mathematically efficient. A lot of the hyper parameters, you're going to be tuning stuff that is not intuitive based on the data from what my experience is. So I'll use an automated hyper parameter tuning algorithm or if I don't feel lazy and I don't want to install it, just do a random search.
