The Invisible Gerilla Experiment

Invisible gorillas are unexpected events that happen at the very beginning of a story. The protagonist is so concentrated and their attention is so tightly focussed on attaining a particular goal, that they don't see the truth of what that unexpected event actually is. So why do i use that invisible gerilla experiment to define the unexpected event that drops into the heroic journey? Well, i see these unexpected events as invisible gorillas.
