Is There a Way to Speed Up Government Policy?

Politicians want to implement laws and rules that they think will at least not end their political career. They probably do so based on perceptions of what what basely people want and what they don't want. People actually care a lot more about the environment, and are much more willing to want the government to go faster than it is going. There's also an in between with government policy, where it doesn't need to be completely outlawing a particular thing or a particular behavior. And i think these blanket outlaws are maybe not even a great idea because they can have unintended consequences.
