I can imagine if he was more if you have a more active protagonist that's why who you attach to as an audience member and that's kind of becomes your world I guess when you look at saving private Ryan for example. It really contributes to this sense of not just we're going from A to B to C and then finally we reach the goal but it feels more like okay we went through A and then through B and then through C that we arrive at.
