I think on paper, France's notion of citizenship and rooted in universalism is brilliant. But I think it's ill-suited to a society that is as diverse as France is today with people having a longing for a sense of identity lost. And I think it would be much better off if we accepted France's multicultural roots and allowed people to live with them.
