The SCARF Model for Social Interactions

The SCARF model has been widely adopted to enhance self-awareness and social interactions. It was developed in 2008, but it took about three years to develop. The acronym came to me at the bottom of a swimming pool in the Philippines. In some ways, scarf is an evolution of Desi's work on you know, mastery and autonomy. But what I understand now as the big motivators are our strong intrinsic motivators such as ourselves.
