Introduction
In february 20 21, a severe cold weather event known as winterstorm ury caused numerous failures at the electric generating plants scattered across texas and other parts of south central united states. More than four point five million people in texas lost power, some for as long as four days while below freezing temperatures swept the state. Tragically, at least 210 people died as a result of the power ounages, from causes like hypothermia, carbon monoxide poisoning and metac conditions exasperated by the freezing conditions.
