How Do You Know How Many Calories You Burn?
In a USDA study, volunteers eat the same amount of nuts as they would at home. The food is weighed out to the nearest gram and then collected in feces. Scientists use other markers such as blood and urine to determine how many calories our bodies can get from each meal.
