The Different Types of Passions

Passions result from our perceiving material things under these intentional aspects, such as pleasurable or fearful. Aquinas doesn't think that passions are judgments, but they do result from our apprehending or perceiving objects in specific ways. Our sense appetite draws us to sensible pleasure and pushes us away from pain. The last part of the definition of passion is the corresponding bodily change.
