The Importance of Class in the Post-68 Left
I came from a very working class peasant family that rose up in the ranks because of post-war social mobility, completely by accident. I just felt more identified with these people than with my colleagues who were like, oh, cute, Clinton, she's the most qualified person ever. And they dominated left liberal politics. In Germany, the red-green alliance is falling apart. Everybody hates the greens. Most people in Poland want our aspirational Americans. So they timed on the Zav line to every American policy. But there are really committed people who have been educated in this tradition. They've been really open to this enthusiastically embracing the book.
