The Threat to Democracy From AI
The biggest threat that I see on that sort of time scale is the democracy itself. The tools for making fake images are extremely good now and so we're likely to have a regime where nobody trusts anything. We already had the RNC make a deep fake video as an advertisement in which they made it look like China was invading Taiwan, San Francisco was being overrun and so forth. It looked pretty plausible and we're going to see a lot more of that very very soon.
