Change Passwords Too Frequently Is a Disservice
If you're a large organization rather than everyone managing their own credentials with a big gateway, only one person has to set the credentials will save for a sequel database. And that's if that changes often only has to change in one place. So as much as, yeah, like an API, you don't need to use a gateway. But even if you are a cloud for a sequel Database, to me, it makes a lot more sense to go straight to the gateway.
