Teaching Your Kids Positive Discipline

When you teach your kids their wants and needs matter, make room for them to voice them. It's never ok to be rude or disrespectful when doing so - whether it's with me or a teacher or a coach, or any one else. We can set up these expectations from the earliest days. Positive discipline is so important because it gives us the tools to set the tone for how we relate to each other respectfully. You're going to go for progress, not perfection. Things like whining, the whining tone, the complaining will get better over time. As they get five and beyond, we can then expect them to fix the whining by responding in a nicer way.
