Moving the Dots Closer

Every day, every conversation is an opportunity to move closer to one another or further apart. I ask clients who are oftin their marriages, in some state of turmoil, to imagine at the others they're some distance apart. And then just can you, as a matter of habit, prioritize moving those dots closer with your partner? Then it, like usurps my tendency and i'm not going to thoughtlessly invalidate them when they bring something to me. But the beautiful part is you can be inconsiderate - so long as when you get feedback about it, like you did about that fill up the water cup in to day, as long as that's accepted as like loving.
