Two brands of artificial tears have been linked by the CDC to this superbug drug resistant superbug that's never been seen before in the U.S. The manufacturers I've talked to say that preservative free is actually a trend in eye drops because if people are using them consistently, the preservative is actually a toxin. And when the FDA did finally get to this factory after the eye drops were recalled, the list of deficiencies ran 14 pages. It was workers wearing, you know, sort of dirty, reused booties, the clean room having nail holes and sealant where even the airflow is unidirectional.
