The Importance of Goals of Care Conversations
I think it's helpful to talk to family members in those settings often about sort of hypotheticals right you know we both hope that he wakes up and just so we can prepare for every possibility if he doesn't wake up. To try to get a sense try to get that patient's perspective and try to move that conversation forward is not always going to work. I would encourage folks to pay attention to the inclination to have lots of goals of care conversations right to want to kind of do it every day that can be really fatiguing for patients and families and damage the trust. If goals are clear schedule a check-in once a week once every you know we can have whatever it is
