The Fukashima Disaster
It's been over a decade since the fukushima nuclear disaster. Even more than a decade after the disaster, the fucashima plant and surrounding areas are still not safe. There is radioactive material smouldering away inside the ruined reactor cors. The disaster also con nated hundreds of square miles of northeast japan and lower levels. Of the 165 thousand refugees who evacuated of radioactive pollution, just forty % have returned. In our next episode we'll talk about the aftermath with npr reporter cat lansdorf.
