Is Social Media Providing the Opportunity for Social Comparison?

Before social media, you know, people have access to magazines and other kinds of media in which social comparisons become sort of salient if you're around other people. So based on what i've seen, i don't actually think that social media is providing like, as many unique opportunities for social comparison over what existed before as people might think they are. Rie a little bit of evidence for it, but it's not, as, it's not as as compelling as you might think.
