This is episode two of Prohibition from American History Tellers. In 1920, a waiter in Manhattan was approached to connect his wealthy clientele with an illicit booze supplier. On the next episode, while Prohibition was successful in closing the saloon, it didn't quench America's thirst for alcohol. Soon, enterprising bootleggers found the supply to meet demand, and new drinking establishments popped up across the nation called Speakeasies.
