The Effects of Plant-Based Diets on Mortality
A new study shows that plant-based diets not always health quality is key. It's 120,000 middle-aged adults followed for over 10 years in the UK Biobank. The people who ate the healthy plant-based diet had a 16% lower risk of dying during follow-up compared to those with the lowest intakes of the healthful plant-based foods. But then it says, by contrast, an unhealthy plant- based diet was associated with a 23% higher total mortality risk.
