There have been journalists who have struck out on their own and done something like what a lot of people are doing on sub-stack right now. Ben Thompson more recently has been doing it with Stratecary, which is a publication that he runs as a blog and an email newsletter with a subscription price to it. And he's expanding that into podcasting now as well. So the model has been around. It's just been really hard to do. Many reporters, given the existing models to support journalism, have preferred to take jobs and newsrooms.
