The Importance of Mindfulness
When we're feeling bad about ourselves or ashamed, the learning centers in our mind shut down. This is called metacognition when we're aware of our thoughts. If you can recognize your thinking and come back to your senses, if you know the difference between virtual and reality, then you can make some choices.
