Is There a Good Will in Your Intentions?
i think there is a viscantian notion of the good, you know, having ano a good will or good intentions. It does matter what you're trying to do, and that's relevant to the question of whether we should blame you. Another thing is, were you taking care that what you were trying to do plausibly be achieved by what you actually did? I mean, so you can be negligent. But in lots of contexts, i think that the right thing to say is, the angel in the book of gold writing up there to decide whether saint peter will let you in is keeping track of your intentions.
