The Reserve Bank's Role in Predicting the Economy

Economics isn't an exact science, Michael. And recessions sometimes actually happen in hindsight. So when then is the recession likely to hit? Well, it's a very good question. Broadly though, economists think that people will truly feel the slowdown in the second half of this year and into next year into 2024. Some actually think interest rates could start falling next year as the Reserve Bank tries to reverse what it's done to boost the economy.
