The Affordable Care Act and Medicaid Expansion
Under the Affordable Care Act, most states chose to expand Medicaid. The federal government picks up 90% of the cost for that expansion population. But under a provision in the American Rescue Plan Act, states were given an incentive to expand their Medicaid enrollment if they hadn't done so already. And I think right now it's about 39 states have taken advantage of that.
