Theodoric's Emperor

Gothic king theodoric asked avitus augustus why he didn't just become emperor. Avidas was a wealthy, powerful man who commanded one of the largest military forces in the western empire. He travelled to arl and announced that he was willing to take power if they wanted him to. But avidus had as good a claim to any to imperial power but did not mean that he was the only interested part in who should rule the west. All of them could be theoretically induced to follow avitus, if he played his cards just right.
