The Theological History of Protestantism
Curtis is trying to trace the theological history of this back to sort of the New England Puritans who came over and how that evolved. He says it's a straight line from New England Puritanism of 200 years ago, 300 years ago to where we are now. Orrin: I think mold bug is correct. There are other factors at play. But anyway, if you go back to the 19th century some of the tenants of Quakerism are like punishing prisoners instead of reforming them.
