Is There a Force for Good in AI?

I call this alpha dissipation, right? You have an innovation and then gradually it disseminates through the economy. All the little workers in the economy work to capture the value that can be captured from that innovation. And when you create regulation, you reduce the degree of alpha dissipation which reduces the degree to which you flatten the capabilities landscape. So I strongly believe that like what stability is doing and efforts in this direction are a force for good. They are not increasing risk substantially. Where they are, they are contributing locally to hardening infrastructure, which we absolutely must do.
