What Is the Real Goal of China?

Most citizens of countries on the earth would probably say something similar about their own place. It seems to me that most people who are in china want to be america plus ten per cent. And that that doesn't seem peculiar to me, because that seems exactly like an american type of ideal. So my question as an outsider is to say, is this something of human nature that everybody basically wants to do this once they develop? Or would the chinese want to necessarily have something which is obviously successful, economically powerful, butt is really based on a different set of values somehow more in keeping with their own traditions and orientations?
