What's Unique and Interesting About Renee Girard's Theory of Human Nature?
Renee Girard's theory of human nature is that it fundamentally sees humans as social creatures concerned with what an act primarily says about them in a social context rather than what an act can do for them. In the Tang dynasty opulence and was it was being larger that that was valued, not skittiness for beauty but metang dynasty in China it was you know opulence and so we tend to imitate those we consider who have a heightened degree of being like the values or objects that they look. I think Girard wants to use the malleability of this metaphysical desire this desire to be what an object says about me to explain really the kaleidoscope of human cultures.
