Hundreds of people turned up in central jakarta wearing their tribal traditional dress. They shared many similar experiences about life under the sohato regime palm oil plantations logging and mining had all been forced on the land which tribes had lived on for centuries. After decades of being told their rights were not important they were determined now to make their voices heard. The group agreed on a powerful declaration offering respect to future indonesian governments if they were respected in return.
