The Importance of a Language

Do you think we should be concerned about dying languages or languages dying out? The key point is whether a language has an actual function in a society. If it's purely symbolic, if it's just, let's have this language because it's important, then I'm a little bit more skeptical. We're calling this episode English, friend or frenemy.
